An alternative design to vertical home nets

LOFTNETS decorative rope is ideal for decorating an empty space using LOFTNETS fasteners and rope. It offers an alternative to the use of net guardrails.

The system is created from ropes stretched vertically between an upper handrail and a fixed base, creating a light, transparent, and architecturally innovative partition.

Tips on calculating how much rope and fasteners you will need

To create your decorative rope design, all you need is a rope and fasteners! Make sure you also have access to a drill to install your fasteners.

You can use two types of lacing:

Ropes must be properly tensioned and attached, leaving a maximum gap of 11 cm between each fastener along the side. The handrail and base must be firmly anchored to their surrounding structures to support rope tension and external forces.

Tips on calculating how much rope and fasteners you will need:

• Single lacing: 8 m of rope/m²
• Cross lacing: 16 m of rope/m²

The quantity of rope and fasteners required is calculated as follows:

Rope:
[8 m of rope x number of m²]

Fasteners:
[(length of sides / spacing between fasteners 110 mm) x number of sides]

→ Example: for a 5 m² decorative rope on a rectangular surface with two upper and lower sides (2 m long, 2.5 m high), you will need:

• Single lacing: 40 m of rope (8 x 5m²) + 37 fasteners ((2000 mm / 110 mm) x 2))
• Cross lacing: 80 m of rope + 74 fasteners

Remember to leave an additional margin of rope for tying start and end knots.

Depending on the complexity of the lacing you want to create, you may also need more rope (above 21 m / m²).

It is important to remember that a vertical rope does not offer the same level of safety as our guardrail vertical nets. Unlike our guardrail nets, they must be used purely for decorative purposes and are not designed to withstand the weight of a human being.

Nonetheless, they offer huge freedom in terms of usage and installation, and, with simple fasteners and linear rope, you can fill the space exactly as you wish.
