The manufacturing process includes precise cutting, mesh braiding or knotting, and finishing with reinforcements and borders to increase durability. Our work requires a very high level of manual skill, extensive knowledge of marine materials, and extreme attention to detail. These are the cornerstones of our activities at our workshop in Bordeaux.

Do you only make nets and trampolines for major sailing brands or do you also offer custom-made nets?

At our workshop in Bordeaux, France, we design and manufacture nets for major brands of catamaran and trimaran such as Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Sunreef, Outremer, CATANA, Nautitech, Neel, Privilège, etc.

Additionally, our extensive product knowledge and innovative spirit also enable us to produce custom-made nets for the dimensions specified by our customers. Simply fill in our form to obtain a quote (Step 1: Click on “Other brand or custom-made net: Contact us”). For these orders, we will design a diagram that will be sent to the customer for approval. Manufacturing times are short.

I’m not sure which type of net to choose…

Each net has a different mesh and is designed for a different use. That’s why we recommend reading all the information on our different products and understanding how you will use your net in order to choose the correct mesh. How do I attach my trampoline to my boat?

You will be sent an installation manual when your order is approved. Simply follow our tips for quick and easy installation of your catamaran trampoline. Choosing the right type of lacing is essential for correctly tensioning your trampoline. We recommend using as many fastener points as possible on the boat and prioritizing point-by-point lacing.

My catamaran trampoline is showing signs of wear, can I repair it?

Although it is always possible to use a gasket to repair a broken mesh, we strongly recommend replacing your boat’s net with a new one. Worn-out areas often indicate more generalized wear, which is why it is often best to replace the net entirely. Wear is normal, as the textile will be subjected to often intense marine conditions (waves, salt) and weather constraints (UV, ice).

How long will my net last?

It is normal for a catamaran trampoline to have a limited lifespan. Nets are exposed to a large number of stressors, including UV, sea salt, friction, tension, and professional and personal uses. For this reason, the lifespan of a catamaran trampoline will vary greatly depending on conditions at sea and can range from anywhere between 3 and 15 years. In some cases, nets will need to be replaced on a regular basis.

My boat is on the other side of the world. Do I need to organize special shipping?

We handle worldwide shipping on a daily basis and can adapt to any situation. It is often the case that our customers’ boats are located around the globe. Our ordering, manufacturing, and shipping process is tried and tested, and our shipping companies are able to deliver to marinas throughout the world. The important thing is to let us know the boat’s arrival and departure dates as far in advance as possible.

Technical elements included in a catamaran trampoline

Catamaran and trimaran trampolines are essential elements in ensuring the crew’s safety. They are an integral part of the layout for a boat’s deck and act as an extension of the roof and cockpit, offering an area for sailing maneuvers and leisure zones during mooring. As they are in frequent use by crews and exposed to a wide range of elements (tension, UV, humidity from seawater, wear, etc.), they are made from highly resistant materials, finished with a reinforced border, and require professional installation.

• Dimensions: Shapes and dimensions are key elements in a trampoline’s design as replacement nets must be neither too small or too large, and sometimes incorporate complex shapes. We base our calculations on the empty space created by the structure of the boat (hull, beams, fasteners, hull-to-deck joints, etc.) rather than the actual net, as they may loosen or be damaged over time. • Materials: LOFTNETS Marine 3S® materials have been specially designed and developed for use in catamaran trampolines and are capable of standing up to all conditions. They have been specially optimized and there is a recommended material for each type of use. The more open the material, the more seawater and wind will be able to pass through. This, however, comes at the price of slightly less comfort, especially if the net is very taut.
  
  
• Finishes: We have developed a hand-made reinforced finish that lines the machine-seam finish. A double bolt rope is used to add a second free boltrope along the edge of the net to absorb the load from overall tension and ensure it is spread across the outer edge and the boat fasteners (which must be spaced no more than 15 cm apart for optimum net tension).
  
  
• Lacing: Traditionally, the most common type of lacing is "zig-zag" lacing with a Ø 6-10 mm rope or an alternative fastener/net combination. Security considerations dictate that only one rope should be used per side and a single strand should not be used for the entire perimeter of the trampoline, as this could create unnecessary risks in the event the strand breaks due to wear or abrasion. We, however, recommend point-by-point lacing between each fastener with a Ø 4 mm or Ø 6 mm rope. By creating loops, tension is generated through a block and tackle system and each lacing point is independent.
