Want to give your net area an industrial look, or already have an existing metal frame? To install a custom-made net in a metal frame, there are two different methods: drilling or welding.
Installing a home net in a metal structure
To install a custom-made net in a metal frame, there are two different methods: drilling or welding. Which you choose will depend on the metal’s profile.
Drilling holes to install a home net
Two types of fastener can be used for a metal structure: eye bolts (available in several sizes) and fixing shackles.
Eye bolts are suitable for different structural thicknesses. These specifications need to be followed to ensure safe assembly and use of your net. Eye bolts can be attached to the central section (core) of an IPN beam so the forces exerted are in line with the fastener.
Shackles are another great alternative when used on the upper part and placed up to a depth of 10 mm from the edge.
Welding to install a home net
If you decide to opt for welding, you can choose between welding hoisting eyes (diameter similar to 23 mm eyebolt) or a round tube for direct lacing.
We do not sell these rings or tubes and recommend speaking to one of our experts for advice on your final choice.

Tips for attaching metal fasteners
Eye bolts and shackles are often used as anchor points for heavy loads, such as hoisting equipment, solar panels, and safety equipment.
To install an eye bolt, simply screw the bolt into a pre-drilled hole in the metal structure. The eye can then be used to attach the tension rope to the metal structure.
Fixing shackles are openable D-shaped fasteners used to connect two objects or to attach a load to an anchor point. Not to be confused with our lacing shackles.
