Interior partitions and exterior railing made of netting - Cottage in the Scottish forest

This sumptuous retreat is nestled in the woods at the heart of the vast historic estate of Clackmannanshire in Scotland, rich in diverse and protected wildlife.
The owners designed three mini-cottages with an emphasis on wood and low-carbon construction. Light transmission is optimized thanks to the design of two vertical partitions securing the mezzanine with 45mm wide mesh netting. These unusually shaped nets were custom-made by our LOFTNETS workshop in Bordeaux, France.
To create the vertical sides on either side of the staircase, LOFTNETS supplied a Dyneema® cable with a turnbuckle, which allows for perfect tensioning of this ultra-strong fiber cable.
Each vertical net is reinforced with a beige-colored rope to ensure maximum safety. A matching 10mm rope ties the net to the stainless steel eye plates.
The terrace railing is equipped with discreet black knotted nets with a 60mm mesh, blending perfectly with the natural feel of this cottage.
