This outdoor horizontal net project in the Caribbean Islands creates a functional, weather-resistant suspended area, carefully integrated into an open architectural setting. The net was stretched in the open air, providing a secure and original overhanging space.
The chosen model is a 20 mm braided mesh net in Marine 3S® Polyester, in its discreet, modern gray hue. This tightly-woven mesh is ideally suited to outdoor use, particularly in exposed areas, where it prevents objects from falling, while retaining its light visual appeal.
The whole system was securely fastened using 8x80 mm eye screws, anchored in the wooden support. This type of fastening, particularly suited to outdoor environments, guarantees effective resistance to climatic variations and mechanical stress.
The net has been tensioned with 10 mm grey rope, laid out in a double criss-cross pattern. This lacing method ensures even distribution of tension around the entire perimeter, while providing an excellent finish. The rope used, treated for outdoor use, is resistant to humidity and UV rays, prolonging the durability of the system in this tropical climate.
The project demonstrates how a suspended net can be harmoniously integrated outdoors, to create a playful or relaxing space at height, while meeting the technical requirements of an outdoor installation.
