Our home nets were initially designed for catamarans. Also known as “catamaran trampolines”, they are made to the same specifications and are therefore able to withstand the most extreme meteorological conditions nature has to offer.
Making the most of the latest technical developments in the sailing industry, LOFTNETS has designed an exclusive, tried-and-tested material which offers increased resistance, notably to abrasion: our Marine 3S® Polyester. This fiber is perfectly adapted to highly demanding applications and conditions, from poor conditions at sea, to UV light, saltwater, wind, and extreme temperatures.
Heat, humidity, and strong sunlight—what impact will these have on your home net?
Do you live in a tropical climate and wish to secure an area in an outdoor space or simply create a new place to relax? No problem at all! We ship our custom-made nets to the Caribbean and hot and humid countries such as Costa Rica and Singapore. They have been designed specifically to remain durable in hot and salty climates.
Dry, arid areas such as the Middle East also pose no problem and our meshes frequently travel to the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Nets made with Marine 3S® polyester mesh are designed to withstand temperatures over 70°C.
Large polyamide 50 mm and 60 mm knotted meshes also receive UV-light treatment and are waterproof. They are perfect for use as a vertical guardrail and maintain all their properties even after many hours of sun exposure.
How will my net be affected by ice, snow, and cold temperatures?
Just like in tropical regions and very hot countries, our giant hammocks can also be installed in countries with very harsh winters, such as Canada, Scandinavia, and the coldest regions of China.
Nets made with Marine 3S® polyester mesh are designed to withstand temperatures down to -20°C for several consecutive days.
Although our nets can be kept outside throughout the year, low temperatures and the weight of snow can nonetheless damage a net over time, just like any other piece of garden furniture. We therefore recommend storing your net indoors over the winter wherever possible and appropriate. Although capable of lasting far longer, our nets are guaranteed for a period of 2 years. For optimum results, make sure to check the condition of the meshes regularly.
If you are unable to take your net down between seasons, you can also cover it with a tarpaulin if it is going to spend an extended period out of use.
If your net seems dirty after a winter exposed to wind and negative temperatures, you can wash it with cold water in a sink or machine-wash it on a program for delicates or at 30°C.
Our ropes composed of ultra-resistant multi-strand polyester also stand up to extreme environments (storms, cold, heat, marine conditions).
For outdoor use, we recommend our ultra-resistant A4 stainless steel fasteners. As stainless steel is the most resistant to varying meteorological conditions, they will not rust.
