Does your house have a wooden frame you would like to keep so that your net fits seamlessly in with the carpentry, offering a warm look? This is entirely possible with LOFTNETS fasteners and home nets.
Installing a home net in a wooden structure
By making use of your home’s existing frame, you can create and secure simple and original new spaces without breaking the bank.
If the structure of your house is not appropriate or resistant enough for a home net, you can also install a wooden frame.
To install this type of frame, you will need to make sure the structure is thick enough for screws or eye screws. We recommend a minimum thickness of 10 mm in addition to the length of the eye screw or eye plate. This can be for aesthetic reasons if there is a space behind the wooden beam or to avoid damaging a surface behind the frame.
Fasteners for wooden structures
Blocker eye plates and classic eye plates are ideal for creating a marine look for your home net with a point-by-point lacing, a lacing type used by many catamaran nets.
Eye screws are another option. They also offer perfect hold indoors or outdoors. Please note that wider size 12x120 mm galvanized steel eye screw is suitable for indoor use only.

Tips for attaching wood fasteners
For eye screws, it is important to drill a hole in the wood with the right size of drill bit to prevent the wood from splitting and to ensure the hole is deep enough for the eye screw. Once the hole has been drilled, the eye screw can be inserted and screwed tight using a hex key or screwdriver. LOFTNETS has designed a drill bit to make this step easier, which will be sent free with your order with eye screws.
Eye plates should be attached using two 5x50 mm screws on each plate (4.5x35 mm for vertical use).
