The first solo racing showdown of 2026 for the entire Ocean Fifty fleet. LOFTNETS nets equip 5 of the 11 Ocean Fifty trimarans competing in this DRHEAM-CUP, the 6th edition of the French Offshore Racing Grand Prix.
Sailing an Ocean Fifty with a crew or double-handed is already no easy feat… but taking one on solo is a challenge reserved for the very best!
The Ocean Fifty trimarans raced towards Fastnet Rock at close to 25 knots, neck and neck. Baptiste Hulin (Viabilis Oceans) set the pace from the start, before Basile Bourgnon (Edenred) took the lead at the Fastnet and held it all the way to the finish line.
It is worth noting that, from the very start, the fleet included both very recent boats (Edenred, Elvest) and older trimarans: Viabilis Oceans (2017), Upwind by MerConcept (2013), Wewise (2018) and Sodebo Fifty (2009!). All have been upgraded and can now hold their own against the newest boats.
French pride! Five of these spectacular Ocean Fifty trimarans are fitted with nets made in Bordeaux by LOFTNETS: Solidaires en Peloton, Elvest, Wind’Up by MerConcept, Wewise and Le Rire Médecin Lamothe.
A warm-up ahead of the Route du Rhum Destination Guadeloupe
This DRHEAM-CUP celebrated diversity, a value close to the heart of its founder, Jacques Civilise.
Anne-Claire Le Berre, skipper of Upwind by MerConcept, finished second in the Ocean Fifty class, making her mark on the race as the first woman to achieve such a result in a solo race in this class.
LOFTNETS is proud to have contributed to this achievement as a trusted equipment supplier!
Arkéa-Handicap International, the Multi 2000 sailed by Damien Seguin and Gérald Véniard, was the first to cross the finish line on Tuesday, 14 July, at 5:24 a.m., earning the award for first place on elapsed time over the DC 600 course.
LOFTNETS is delighted to be part of the remarkable rebirth of the former Fujicolor, a project combining cutting-edge technology with human adventure, led with exceptional skill by Damien Seguin.
