5 Ocean Fifty trust LOFTNETS as a technical partner
5 boats in the class are equipped with LOFTNETS nets, a true mark of confidence in the high performance of our Dyneema 50 nets, custom-made according to each boat’s specifications. At the helm are seasoned skippers, all driven by a passion for offshore racing.
- Solidaires en Peloton, skippered by Sébastien Vauchel-Camus, our long-standing partner, who renewed his net in 2024,
- Elvest (formerly Primonial), skippered by the talented Sébastien Rogues, winner of the first 2 Acts of the 2026 championship,
- WindUp by Merconcept, skippered by Anne-Claire Le Berre with a 100% female crew,
- Wewise, skippered by Pierre Quiroga (ex-Solidaires en Peloton 2018-2013),
- Le Rire Médecin Lamotte, skippered by Luke Berry.
Act 2 of the Ocean Fifty Championship in the Bay of Ajaccio
Act 2 took place in May in the bay of the imperial city of Ajaccio, Corsica. The crews thoroughly enjoyed sailing through this stunning setting during 7 races on constructed courses, before tracing their wakes toward the Sanguinaires Islands for three coastal courses.
Our trimarans held their own in capricious winds. With fine tacks and skillful maneuvers along the coast leading to the Islands, they focused carefully on strategic choices and fine-tuning.
The ranking after Act 2: 1st Elvest ahead of Edenred and Lazare, 6th Solidaires en Peloton just ahead of Upwind by Merconcept in 7th, and Wewise in 8th.
A change of ocean for Act 3 of the Championship
The Ocean Fifty Series 2026 Championship is heading back up toward Brittany to fine-tune the skippers’ preparation for the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, the highlight of the season.
They will face off in Cherbourg in mid-July for the Drheam Cup, Act 3 of the championship, still sailed solo, and a qualifier for the legendary transatlantic race to come.
