“Set sail again!” That was François’s wish after 20 years of regattas, offshore races, and incredible records. Proud to be its technical partner, LOFTNETS wishes it all the best!
When François Gabart contacted LOFTNETS to equip Timaho, his magnificent 60-foot catamaran that will become his home during a three-year family trip around the world, the whole team felt happy and proud of the trust he placed in our expertise.
The stakes are high: Timaho’s trampoline net will welcome and protect François’ three children as well as the two parents on board throughout their entire journey. An essential passage area for manoeuvring the sailing boat, it is also a special living space for enjoying the countless pleasures of life in the open ocean.
The workshop paid special attention to this net designed to cross oceans and withstand all weather conditions. Made from Marine 3S® polyester mesh, flat-braided, the exclusive mesh developed by LOFTNETS to meet all the requirements of use in a marine environment.
Fresh news from François:
“We have already been away for a few months.
After a short trip around Scandinavia last summer, we left Brittany in the autumn and spent part of the winter in the Caribbean. And now here we are on the other side of the world, in the Gambier Islands, in Polynesia.
It is magnificent.
I don’t really know where this journey will take us. What it will teach us. What we will discover, understand, change.
But there are at least two things I am certain of today.
The first is that I am deeply happy at sea.
Ever since I was very young, that is where I feel good. Balanced.
The second thing is that the world is incredibly beautiful.
The ocean, of course. But also the sky, the light, the clouds, the mountains… and also the birds, the fish, life in all its forms. And ultimately, slowing down for a moment to see better and admire all of this is a great richness.
Perhaps happiness is simply there…”
Thank you, François, for making us dream, and fair winds on the oceans!
