Caring for your catamaran trampoline

This article looks at our tips for increasing your net or technical canvas’ lifespan.

A specialist in catamaran nets, LOFTNETS is producing high-quality multihull trampolines since 2005.

To help ensure they maintain their key characteristics over time, this article looks at our tips for increasing your net’s lifespan, such as winter storage, cleaning and repairs.

Winter storage for your catamaran net

If you winter your boat and will spend several months at anchor, we recommend removing your net and installing a tarpaulin. When removing your net, check the integrity of the fasteners and the bolt rope where the rope attaches.

Cleaning your catamaran net

Your catamaran trampoline can be machine-washed cold or at 30°C, without a spin cycle. For technical canvas, use a microfibre cloth or soft-bristled brush while the canvas is stretched across the catamaran.

We recommend only using products with a neutral pH to avoid weakening the mesh and bolt rope.

When storing your net, we recommend rolling it up to prevent creating folds and to avoid placing anything else on top of it.

Repairing your catamaran net

Our nets are designed to last three to seven years on average for braided mesh nets, and for five to ten years for technical canvases, depending on where you sail and UV exposure.

The most common signs of wear found in a net are weakening of the meshes around the bolt rope and fraying where meshes have been exposed to the sun or friction.

If you notice a damaged mesh, let our customer service team know and we will send you a care kit as soon as possible.
