Home nets are becoming more and more popular in France and around the world. LOFTNETS, the catamaran and home net expert, can answer all your questions.
Home netting has become a clever and trendy design element in recent years. More and more people are discovering this concept, and may be wondering about the safety and reliability of a net.
Is the net strong enough to lie on or walk on?
Home net is originally designed for catamarans. It is therefore very strong and designed to withstand heavy loads, UV rays and water in extreme conditions.
Because of its origin and history, polyester is the catamaran netting material by excellence. And it is without doubt the most widely used fiber in the manufacture of nautical ropes. It stretches much less than a polyamide net, making it perfect for regular use.
In 2021, LOFTNETS has launched its exclusive Marine 3S® polyester range, named after its technical characteristics: “Marine” for its outstanding ability to resist wind and salt, and “3S” for Strong, Soft and Sunproof. This material is even more resistant than standard polyester, with very little stretch in use.
Home nets can support up to 1 ton per 8 m² net. There is no risk of you sitting, lying or walking on it once it's installed - that's exactly what it's made for!
What are the risks of installing a home net by ourselves?
For horizontal home nets, install them from underneath, making sure the installer is safe. A person above can help with positioning and lacing.
During installation, there is a risk of falling (from tools or people). As with any work you undertake at home, make sure you secure the area around you.
Our nets have been tested by an independent, accredited control body. These tests have validated the entire LOFTNETS system, including the installation principle.
The detailed installation instructions enable anyone to install a home net in complete safety. All you have to do is follow the steps for installing the fasteners, net and tensioning rope, and make sure the space is secured as described above.
80% of our customers install their nets themselves without difficulty, and 20% prefer to call on a craftsman installer from our network of installers. In all cases, our customers are satisfied with their nets because they are easy to install, very strong, secure and durable.
What are the risks of children using a home net?
The height of a house net can be a source of concern when it's intended for use by children. It's an apprehension that all parents can have, and it's perfectly normal. LOFTNETS makes safety its top priority, especially for children.
With its high resistance, its installation principle validated by a control office and its small meshes providing maximum comfort for little feet and hands, your children will have no risk of walking, playing or reading on the home net installed in complete safety thanks to our detailed instructions.
