The LOFTNETS range includes trampolines made with 50 mm pre-stretched Dyneema® (UHMPE), an ultra-resistant synthetic fiber made from high-performance polyethylene.
Dyneema® is made from high-performance polyethylene (UHMWPE: Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene).
It is known to be one of the highest performing materials for the manufacture of catamaran trampolines. Renowned for its low stretch factor (<1%) and high resistance, this is the mesh most frequently used in offshore racing catamarans.
Exceptional lightness and resistance
Dyneema® is one of the strongest materials in the world when it comes to tensile strength. It is over 15 times more resistant than steel and yet extremely lightweight. This helps reduce the overall weight of a catamaran, resulting in increased speeds and maneuverability.
Increased durability
Dyneema® is resistant to UV light, saltwater, and poor weather, making it particularly well-suited to use in marine environments. Its resistance to wear and abrasion guarantees impressive durability, even in the most extreme conditions.
Easy care and maintenance
Compared with other materials, Dyneema® requires very little maintenance. Its waterproof nature prevents mold and algae from forming.
Dimensional stability
Dyneema® maintains its shape and resistance over time, even under tension, without loosening or warping. This ensures consistent performance and a trampoline that remains taught—an essential factor for passenger safety and comfort.
Sailing comfort
Dyneema® nets offer excellent stability and are sufficiently supple to ensure maximum sailing comfort. They also include enough flexibility for movement without compromising on support.
Dyneema® is a very high-quality material that provides maximum durability and performance. For this reason, it comes with a higher price tag than LOFTNETS’ other polyester nets.
